Porsche Panamera Convertible: Releasing Soon
By: Peter Chubb | October 8, 2009 | Leave a CommentWe have recently learned that Porsche are to launch the Panamera Convertible. Autoblog reports that it is not the four-door version, the German sports car maker are instead going with the two-door, four-seat convertible configuration instead.
Automotive News reports that Automobilwoche had a chance to chat with Wolfgang Duerheimer, the development chief over at Porsche. He said, “We have a broad range of 14 derivatives of the 911 that are very successful.” He then went on to say, “So it stands to reason we should diversify the lineup for the Panamera as well.”
The new Panamera cabriolet will cost an extra 11,000 Euros ($16,000) than the current Panamera sedan, that model sells for around 94,575 Euros in Germany. Going with the two-door version will help to make the car more rigid than a four-door version; this will make it handle much better.
There is no exact launch date for the new car and any details on what engine will be used or performance figures. Once we know more, we will keep you informed.
