New BMW 0 Series: Between 1 Series and Mini
By: Peter Chubb | October 8, 2009 | Leave a CommentFor years the BMW 3 Series was known as the smaller car from the German automaker, but that all changed with the 1 Series. Then there is the Mini, which BMW revived a few years back but never had the usual BMW Series statues. BMW aims to bring the gap between the BMW 1 Series and the Mini, and that is with the BMW 0 Series.
According to Autoblog, BMW know that they need to meet customer demand and produce more small fuel-efficient vehicles as other carmakers have. Even Aston Martin is getting in on the action with the Cygnet, which is just a re-branded Toyota iQ.
The photo above that came courtesy of Jalopnik seems to be a mixture of a number of the models in the BMW range. The new BMW 0 Series will go break away from tradition and be a front-wheel drive. There will be a choice of three or five-door versions.
The car as you can see will be a hatchback; there could even be a roadster version. What do you think of the idea of bridging the gap between the MINI and the 1 Series?
