Motorola Sholes or HTC Imagio?

When it comes to choosing phones, consumers are spoilt for choice, as it seems that a new phone is being launched every week. The higher end of the market is where the hardest choices happen, such as the HTC Imagio and the Motorola Sholes.
The HTC Imagio is rumored to be launching on T-Mobile on November 11 and will come with the newly launched Windows Mobile 6.5. Verizon Wireless is thought to be also getting the new handset, so great to see them starting to get a decent handset.
We recently reported that the HTC Imagio would come with a 3.6-inch WVGA touchscreen display and a 5-megapixel camera with auto-focus. The processor used will be the more than capable 528MHz Qualcomm processor along with 512MB ROM/256MB RAM.
We reported that the Motorola Sholes is to be the first Android phone on Verizon, and comes packed with a host of cool features. The handset has a 3.7-inch touchscreen; 256MB RAM and up to 16 GB with a microSDHC card. Not much more is known about the handset at this time.
So we know that one handset will be going to T-Mobile and Verizon, while the other goes to Verizon. So you now have two choices, do you go for what handset you want, or what network carrier you wish to be tied too?

Both handsets are good hardware. But the problem with the HTC Imagio is that it only runs Microsoft’s woeful Windows Mobile operating system. Search the net and you’ll see how many bad reviews there are for Windows Mobile.
I have no doubt that Google’s Android will become the dominant smartphone operating system. Look at the marketshare figures and you’ll see Android is on the rise, wheras Windows Mobile is on a decline into irrelevancy.
The Motorola Sholes will run Google Android (it will run Android version 2), so this is the phone of choice, and makes it worth waiting for.
The Droid is a good phone, but HTC did a great job with the Imagio. There is nothing wrong with Windows mobile at all!!!! The new 6.5 version works great and is extremely user friendly. I’ve had one for two months now and the only problem I have with the is I wish the screen was the size on the HTC2 or atleast the HTC1. Buy a 16g micro sd card and you are rocking. With some of the bad reviews I read on this phone, I don’t kn ow what the hell they are doing to it. Another thing, with windows mobile you can pretty much do anything you want with the phone. If your good with computers you know what I mean. Great phone hands down!!!!
How can you not do your research before writing a tech piece like this. The HTC Imagio already came out on October 6, 2009. The products aren’t similar in the least, other than a touch screen.
