Following on from our report yesterday, which informed you about AT&T’s decision to open up it’s 3G network to VoIP applications, the network carrier have said that data tethering will come at a later date.
As reported from Apple Insider, AT&T’s data tethering service was originally supposed to launch in the summer along with MMS, but as you will be well aware, MMS has only just become available.
At the moment though, AT&T are unwilling to reveal the current progress of delivering data tethering to customers, as a spokesperson stated: ”Tethering remains unavailable. For tethering, we need to do some additional fine tuning to our systems and networks so that we do deliver a great experience.’”

Att needs to stop being stupid and release the tethering feature. We already pay 300 for a phone that is suppose to be a technological masterpiece, yet we are limited to its capabilities due directly in part to att who wants to capialize on there innocent customers. That is absolutely obserd and they should he punished for there detrimental greedy ways. If apple signs with Verizon they are destined to loose everything and they will no longer be the victor, but become the pauper.
> We already pay $300 for a phone
I only paid $99 for my iPhone.
And my brother got a refub iPhone for $49.
Did you really think AT&T would give you *FREE* and *UNLIMITED* tethering for all your laptops, and home computers????
Because AT&T wants to be “nice” to you?
