Apple iPhone OS 3.1.2 firmware released, download through iTunes

Apple have just have just gone live with their iPhone OS 3.1.2 firmware update. It is available to download now through iTunes and fixes a few known issues in the previous version.

As reported from Apple Insider, the update has been labelled a ‘minor’ one and will apply to all three versions of the iPhone. You’ll now find that Apple have fixed an ongoing issue which caused the iPhone to not wake from sleep sometimes, while AI also points out that an ‘intermittent’ issue which may have been interrupting cellular network services until you restart, has now been addressed.

Finally, occasional crashes during video streaming should no longer occur, so let us know if the update has addressed these problems correctly.

The update will be over 200MB in size and can be downloaded only through iTunes. There is also a similar update for the iPod Touch.

Let us know if you spot any immediate issues with 3.1.2.

    When I try and download the update my computer says it will take 3 hours. Is this correct?

    I always get the err= .3253 whenever i try downloading the 3.1.2 update. My internet connection is very much stable and I don’t know why I can’t download the update.

    hi. i can download the update but then it will say the file cannot be used or something like that and then something about the firmware. i dont think apple have made this very good to download considering it was also taking me 3 hrs and then doesnt even work !
