TomTom iPhone Car Kit: No App Included in High Price

The TomTom iPhone Car Kit is still not available at this time, but we know we are getting close to a release. The car kit had appeared on the Apple Store but was removed on the same day following confusion with the TomTom navigation app.

When Apple put the TomTom iPhone Car Kit online it stated that the app came free with the kit. This resulted in a number of iPhone users who had already purchased the app from iTunes to wonder what would happen as they have already paid for the app.

Engadget have since reported that the TomTom car kit for the Apple iPhone will not come with the app included. This certainly raises the question over the value of the kit and app, selling for a reported $120 in the US and £100 in the UK. Add to that the price that you have to pay for the app, and it looks as if you are being taken for a ride.

The TomTom navigation app has already sold 80,000 copies, wonder how many of those customers will ask for their money back after all the confusion.
