BlackBerry Messenger 5.0: Download Today
By: Peter Chubb | October 7, 2009
BlackBerry users will be pleased to learn that Blackberry Messenger 5.0 is available for download today October 7, 2009, so you had better get downloading before the servers get too busy. The software is also thought to come pre-installed on the upcoming BlackBerry Storm 2 handset, which we discussed in a previous post.
According to CrackBerry, Blackberry Messenger 5.0 was known as BBM 5.0, but this has caused a huge debate on its forum. Some users say that the software is called BBM 2 or depending on what device you have, it would also be called BBM 2.5.
Blackberry Messenger 5.0 brings with it a host of new features, this include enhanced SMS, giving you the more personal touch while chatting. Avatars will be another great feature for the update, allowing you to choose a picture, which will be seen by contacts.
