Apple iPhone: AT&T announce VoIP apps over 3G network

Some exciting news as far as iPhone owners on AT&T are concerned, as the network have just announced that they will be giving Apple access to run VoIP applications over their 3G network.

As reported from Apple Insider, this will now allow iPhone owners to try out apps such as Skype with VoIP enabled over 3G, as opposed to the previous option of only WiFi.

Skype President Josh Silverman is naturally delighted by the news, as he stated: “It is the right step for AT&T, Apple, millions of mobile Skypers and the Internet itself.”

All thats left to do now is for Apple to approve Google Voice, then we’re all laughing. Let us know your thoughts on the news.
