Windows Mobile 6.5 phones go on sale today
By: Alan Ng | October 6, 2009 | Leave a CommentYou may have been one of the lucky few who are already in possession of a Windows Mobile 6.5-equipped handset, but today is the official launch date for everyone else.
As reported from V3, the launch of Windows Mobile 6.5 also brings major improvements to their range of online services such as the new Windows Marketplace, Microsoft’s answer to the Apple App store.
Another new feature said to be included with Windows Mobile 6.5 is ‘My Phone’ – which will let you sync your phone with your PC, allowing you to backup your important files easily and quickly. V3 reports that a ‘premium’ version of My Phone will also be available, which will let you locate a lost phone using GPS.
According to V3, Microsoft are planning to include around 200 apps on launch, although our report on Windows Marketplace yesterday, only found there to be 34 apps available, so it looks as if Microsoft have changed that already.
