Over the last year handset Operating Systems have developed majorly on many different platforms, we have seen major improvements with iPhone OS, Palm’s webOS, Google’s Android OS and RIM’s OS’s for BlackBerry handsets, however one OS we have not seen major improvements with is Windows Mobile OS.
Today however we have seen the launch of Windows Mobile 6.5, a fully detailed review of the Mobile OS has recently been posted on SlashGear, one question that SlashGear try to answer is “Is 6.5 a legitimate release, or just a stopgap half-measure on the road to Windows Mobile 7 next year?”
You can check out SlashGear’s full article here which includes a detailed look into its Exchange support, interface tweaks, big-fixes, the Windows Marketplace and “Microsoft MyPhone”.
It seems overall the OS has vastly improved however, when compared to some of the competitive OS’s Windows Mobile 6.5 does not quite reach the same level, from what we can see SlashGear feel that due to Windows Mobile 6.5 falling slightly short you are left craving the release of Windows Mobile 7.0.
