HTC Touch2 with Windows Mobile 6.5: Hands-on Review

One of HTC’s new Windows Mobile handsets is the HTC Touch2, the handset is said to have concentrated mainly on being a simple to use handset instead of being one of the most feature packed handsets.

The HTC Touch2 has a 2.8 inch touchscreen display, the build quality is said to be good and the size of the handset allows it to fit into the palm of your hand nicely, the Touch2 features a ExtUSB port along with a 3.5mm headphone socktet.

One problem with the Touch2 is that the display is too small, because of this quite often you have to use a stylus rather than just use your finger, also out of the box the touchscreen display is said to be mis-calibrated, this made initial setup of the handset a frustrating task, however once calibrated it was fine.

The Touch2 features pretty much all the connectivity you come to expect with modern handsets, this includes 3G HSPDA,WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS, the Bluetooth is Bluetooth 2.0 not 2.1 but that’s no real big issue, especially given the fact the handset is being marketed as an affordable handset.

There are a few ways in which HTC have kept this handset affordable, one of money saving measures is by choosing to use a resistive touchscreen display which displays a resolution of 320×240.
