Did Humax Fix your Freeview Retune Fault?

The recent Freeview Retune fault has seen set-top boxes throughout the UK knocked out, but Humax claims to have sorted out the problem. Angry Freeview box owners were left enraged after they retuned their boxes, only to find a blank screen staring at them.

The Mirror spoke to Humax yesterday; they asked what Freeview owners need to do with their digital boxes. However, Humax just said that they have fixed any problems that customers had with their boxes, we no conformation on that.

Some of the complaints that came in from customers were that they lost almost all of their channels, some even paid for an engineer to come at look at their aerial. If this is true, then Humax have done great job in getting their boxes working again.

Let us know if you were affected by the Freeview Retune, and have Humax fixed the problem.

I have not been able to receive most BBC channels on my Human PVR9300T since the retune. I did a normal retune on the 30th. There is no information obviously available on the Humax website. After nearly 20 mins waiting on the phone to customer support I was told to restore the box to default settings. I’ll try this when I get home.

Have tried (nearly) everything to get my Humax PVR-9200T to behave properly. Soon after switch-on, it refuses to respond to the hand control and stalls on the one channel selected. Switch off, pause, and then switch on restores functionality - but only for a couple of minutes; it then mis-behaves again. What’s to be done?

I have precisely the same problem as Bernard with my PVR-9200T. I have reset the box to default settings, checked that the software is the latest version and done several retunes since last week - but nothing makes any difference. This morning on switching on the TV it was showing BBC1 while the box front display said Channel 4 - this was channel being viewed last night when the TV was switched off !

I have a Humax LGB 17DTTV. Since retuning most ITV channels plus channels 4 & 5 are unobtainable. Tonight it’s even worse; any selected channel with enough signal strength displays for a few seconds then goes blank (or sometimes changes to a totally different channel!). Thank goodness analogue still works.
Their website is no help. What should I do? I’ve tried switching off at the mains - something that has worked for problems in the past.

Update - which should help anyone else in the same situation: I selected system reset to default. It did that then retuned and all is now as it should be. In fact the number of channels is greater and they are all working, for the first time ever.

I was having a problem with my Humax PVR 9200T not finding ITV3, ITV4 and some other channel after the retune. I have just reset to default settings as Rob suggested and all the channels are back. Hope it works for you.
