Audi A3 and TT Recall: Possible Gasoline Leak

Audi A3 and TT owners may want to contact their local dealers if they drive their vehicles hard. There is a recall notice that is aimed at enthusiastic Audi A3 or TT drivers, which if left could result in a possible fuel leak.

Autoblog informs us that a spring that helps to keep the ventilation valve closed on the fuel tank might not be strong enough when the vehicle is driven at extreme conditions. This could result in gasoline leaking out; this in turn could cause a fire, making the recall very important.

The Audi vehicles in question are 10,200 A3s, TT coupes and TT Roadsters. The affected vehicles were built between September 29, 2005 and August 26, 2009. Volkswagen of America is thought to be contacting those vehicles regarding the recall. Audi dealerships will replace the faulty ventilation valves free of charge with newly designed version.
