We learned a few days ago that O2 stores were beginning to run out of iPhone 3GS units, which we covered in a recent story. We wondered if any of you have experienced any shortages when trying to purchase an iPhone. Could Apple be shipping over more units to Orange now, as they will soon become a supplier of the popular handset?
The Telegraph had reported that the iPhone 3GS was still available a couple of weeks ago but the 16GB model has started to see reduced stocks. The more expensive 32GB is not experiencing any shortages. Apple have confirmed shortages, they admit that they are having trouble meeting with the demand of the iPhone 3GS.
We now wonder if Apple is having hassle supplying the iPhone to just one carrier, how will they handle the extra demand from Orange and Vodafone. Verizon customers will also be fearful of this latest news, as Apple may decide that they would never be able to handle the huge demand that would arise from a Verizon iPhone.
