AT&T HTC Tilt 2 and HTC Pure: Now Announced

With the release of the first Windows Mobile 6.5 devices tomorrow AT&T have now decided to officially announce two of their own Windows phones, these are the HTC Pure and the HTC Tilt 2.

According to Cnet’s recent article the HTC Pure is just a re-branded version of the HTC Touch Diamond2, it is while since we have heard about the HTC Touch Diamond2, however it did look pretty impressive in this video.

The announcement regarding the HTC Tilt 2 was a bit less of a shock, two weeks ago we reported that the handset was due for a mid-October release, this still seems to be the case.

The Pure is available now and will set you back $149.99 as part of a two year contract, this pricing also takes into account a $50 mail-ion rebate, the Tilt 2 will be available within the next couple of weeks and will set you back $299.99 as part of a two year contract, this pricing also takes into account a $50 mail-in rebate.

For more details regarding handset specifications check out Cnet’s detailed article here, as we hear a more precise release date for the Tilt 2 we will keep you posted.

I just bought an Htc Pure today for $350 without a new contract. Some problems arose right away, running nothing but touch flo 3D uses over 70-80% of availible memory and even after turning touch flo off I had 2 battery pull lockups in my first few hours of playing with the phone. Also the browsers with full 3G service (both opera and IE) are sadly slower than my girlfriends BB Curve running on edge, also I can’t install google maps, AND goodluck watching youtube videos, even with the Skyfire browser (which out performs the built in browsers easily) I can’t get any flash content to play. Strange though that AT&T’s cellular vidoes play fine with no lag or hiccups (other than the fact that they look horrible). My old HTC Fuze was a smoother faster device and I took it back after 1 week, this phone won’t last that long, its going back tomorrow.

The htc pure is definitely going to be a best seller. HTC is setting the bar now.
