iPhone on Verizon Wireless and US-UK Stock Levels

There are two wars running with the Apple iPhone, in the UK we have the war with O2, Orange and Vodafone, who will now all soon be able to sell the much-wanted handset. We also have the war in the U.S. where Verizon and its customers wish to see the iPhone exclusivity deal with AT&T come to an end.

IBTimes reports that there is a twist in the tale of this story, it seems that Apple are having trouble keeping up with the demand for the iPhone, there have been reports that O2 are now low on stock and, not great news for the carrier as they enter the Christmas shopping season.

There have been reports that Apple has started to offer more of their iPhone units to Orange to build up its stock levels, something that will affect O2. If Apple does start to experience a high demand for their iPhone, one that they will have trouble meeting, then this could persuade Apple to just stick with AT&T in the U.S. and not offer a deal to Verizon.

The end of exclusivity deal on the Apple iPhone will be good for consumers, as they will no longer be tied to one network carrier. Orange have said that they offer a far better 3G service, and that they will offer better calling plan packages than O2. This is also the same story on the other side of the pond, Verizon is known for having a far better network than AT&T.
