iPhone 3GS 3.1 Jailbreak: Twitter Update Confirms

It has been confirmed that the infamous iPhone Dev Team have managed to jailbreak the iPhone 3GS running firmware 3.01. They released the news using their Twitter page. Great news for all those concerned then.

As reported from Redmondpie, the Dev Team have released a screenshot which gives you proof that their method has worked correctly. It shows the iPhone 3GS (7C144) running on the older Modem Firmware (Baseband) version 04.26.08.

What this now means, is that iPhone 3GS owners should expect a public release of the updated Pwnage Tool and ultrasn0w to follow soon. We’ll let you know when the iPhone Dev team make it available.

Sorry but where is the news…3Gs 3.1 has been Jailbreakable for a while with PWnage and ultrasn0w unlocks not jailbreaks. What everyone wants to know is when will Redsn0w be released to JB 3Gs 3.1. If they have, as you mentioned, managed to change baseband that is good news…

How have you Jailbroken your 3g[S] to 3.1? I’ve been waiting for it because I accidentally updated to the official 3.1…so I’m still screwed. I haven’t had my iPhone in almost 2 weeks and it’s KILLING me!

  4. James says:

I’ve been unlocked and jailbroken on 3.1 for ages, it seems more reliable (fewer crashes) than 3.0, battery life also seems to be the same (appauling!)

  5. Robert says:

There is a jailbreak for 3.1 firmware if any only if the 3GS came pre-installed with 3.0. However, there is no jailbreak for a 3GS that came pre-installed or was updated to 3.1.
