High Court order served on Twitter

Twitter is never out of the media attention, we have just learned through BBC News that the High Court has given its permission for an injunction to be served via the site. The injunction is to be served to a Twitter user who has been posted content anonymously, the user has been using the same name as a right-wing political blogger.

The court order states that this anonymous Twitter user has to reveal his identity; he should also stop posting Tweets in the name Donal Blaney. The High Court has said that the Twitter user is breaching the copyright of the real Mr. Blaney.

The real Mr. Blaney has been in contact with BBC News, saying that the content that has been posted in his name was, “mildly objectionable”. Blaney thought that it would be a much quicker process to do the process through Twitter, as going through the usual channels can often be a lengthy process.
