Spreading – Vidyartha College Facebook Virus: Is it just a bug?
By: Peter Chubb | September 30, 2009 | 1 CommentMembers of my family had told me yesterday that they were having trouble getting onto Facebook, but this was not the only problem with the social network site yesterday. It seems that Facebook was under attack with a virus, if not then it was a huge bug in the system. A number of users complained that their school name had been changed to Vidyartha College.
The Inquisitr reported that a number of users reported the Vidyartha College Facebook virus yesterday, since then it has continued to spread throughout the site. When the article was written, no one knew what was causing the problem; Facebook did not even make an official comment about the issue.
The Inquisitr explains that they assume that the Vidyartha College virus is a bug on Facebookâs end, this has happened once before remember. This bug is different in the way that it is only spreading across friends and not to all accounts.
If this is the case, then this bug has turned more serious than we first thought.
