Pioneer BDR-205: 12x Blu-ray Writer
By: Jamie Pert | September 30, 2009 | 1 CommentRecently Pioneer have unveiled their latest Blu-ray burner the Pioneer BDR-205, this Blu-ray burner is quite special as it is the first Blu-ray burner for desktop computer which burns at 12x, this is a huge development for Blu-ray burners as they currently offered at up to speeds of 6-8x.
The drive is internal and connects via SATA, it is the standard 5.25 inch size, along with the 12 Blu-ray burning teh drive is also capable of burning DVD’s at 16x and CD’s at 40 speed, I wouldn’t recommend buying the burner unless you have a system with at least 2GB of RAM and dual-core processor (this is my advice not Pioneer’s recommendation).
The drives are not currently available, however they are expected to launch sometime in October for $249, although $249 sounds high this price is extremely good given the prices this time last year, find out more on SlashGear.
