Nokia N900: Hands-on Video

A new hands-on video of the Nokia N900 has recently showed up on SlashGear, the video is only approximately 90 seconds long however the video gives us a good look at the physicals size and design of the handset, also the video shows the smooth looking Maemo OS.

The video can be seen at the end of this post, it is thought that the OS we see is not a final release of the software, that said the OS looks extremely smooth and responsive, this could perhaps help Nokia handsets compete with iPhone OS, Android and webOS handsets, in my opinion Symbian has held recent Nokia handsets back.

There are said to be two main imperfections with the handsets hardware so far, these are that the keyboard is a little small and also the fact that the handset only has 256MB of storage as standard, no doubt you will be able to add storage via a memory card but surely it wouldn’t hav been hard to integrate a few GB’s of storage.

Personally I feel the Linux OS really adds a breath of fresh air to Nokia handsets, having owned the N95 and currently using the Nokia N96 I am bored of slow and un-innovative OS, and the only way I will buy a future Nokia handset is if the handset uses a better OS, check out SlashGear for more details.

Are you unimpressed with recent Symbian based Nokia handsets?

just 1 comment, the phone does not come with only 256mb of memory storage but 32gig with expendable 16gig via memory card to make a total of 48gig. What it does have 256mb of is dedicated random access memory (RAM) but shared ram goes up to 1gig. Now this is a phone worth me getting a contract line.
