When the UK and Europe show of their new low-production exotic supercars, those in North America and Canada can only stare and wonder what it would be like to have a car like this. This will not be the case with the new McLaren MP4-12C as McLaren’s nascent road car division have offered a strategy for distribution throughout the world, the U.S. and Canada will be included in its plans.
Autoblog reports that the company has finally announced regional managers for not only North America but also Africa, Europe and the Middle East. The first that we know of is to be called “McLaren North America”; this outfit will be based in New York.
Anthony Joseph will head the division; he certainly has experience, as he was a former manager for Ferrari, Maserati and Porsche. McLaren have yet to start production of the new MP4-12C, their production of seeing these on the streets is spring 2011. It was rumored that McLaren were to use its KERS system on this new road car. McLaren are considered to have the best KERS system on the F1 grid.
