Confirmed: Ferrari 458 Spider in Development
By: Peter Chubb | September 30, 2009 | Leave a CommentThe Ferrari 348 Spider 355 Spider, 360 Spider and F430 Spider were all great droptop versions of the Italian automakers mid-engine V8 supercars. We have been waiting a while to learn what the next model will be, and Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo has confirmed that the new Ferrari 458 Spider is reportedly in development.
Autoblog explains that the new roadster version of the new 458 Italia will come with a conventional folding soft-top. We do not know this for certain, but the roof should be very light and one of the quickest to retract on the market.
Although Ferrari have yet to make an official statement on what Montezemolo had said, it looks as though the Ferrari 458 Spider will not be seen on our streets for at least a couple of years. As for that 458 Italia, the pricing is 197,000 Euros, Eurocar reports that deliveries will commence from January.
