Super Street Fighter IV (SSFIV): Is it really worth it?
By: Alan Ng | September 29, 2009 | 5 CommentsFollowing on from the news that Super Street Fighter IV will be a ‘disc-only’ affair, we have been reading a lot of feedback that quite a few of you are not too happy with Capcom over the news.
Yesterday we informed you that Super Street Fighter IV will be coming as a brand new game, with around 10 new characters and new game features to play around with.
It has now been confirmed that the game will release in Spring 2010 on both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 consoles. Capcom have stated that the game won’t be labelled as DLC, but instead come on a standalone disc at a ‘reduced price’.
You may recall Capcom following a similar path to what they did with Resident Evil 5 DLC content. Capcom came in for criticism after it was revealed that their ‘Versus’ DLC content was already contained on the disc, but still charged gamers $4.99 for it.
Still for die hard SF fans, this new ‘Super’ edition may be the best news you’ve heard in months. The idea of brand new characters including T-Hawk and DeeJay are certainly very attractive. But should Capcom have included the bulk of this new content in the original disc?
Another big factor which is bound to frustrate a lot of you, is that both games (SFIV, SSFIV) will NOT be compatible with each other online, meaning that you won’t be able to challenge your friends unless both of you have the same disc.
We want your thoughts on this. Considering the fact that we don’t know how much this new package will cost yet, is it really worth it?
