Phase One 645DF Camera: Price and Release Date

We have recently learned that the Phase One 645DF camera is to ship in the last quarter of 2009, one would assume that it would be around October or November. Another camera due out in October is the Sony Alpha a550. Photographyblog tell us that the camera has been engineered in partnership with Mamiya Digital Imaging.

The reason why Phase One has done this is simple, they want to offer a superior quality image capture for its customers. Once launched, the 645DF will set a new standard for high flash sync speeds, offering speeds of up to 1/1600 of a second. The new model offers a number of performance upgrades over the older model.

Some of these upgrades include, improved autofocus speeds in some cases, up to 5 times faster than its predecessor. Phase One have also announced the launch of three new high performance leaf shutter lenses, these are the 55mm, 80mm and 110mm.

When the Phase One 645DF Camera is launched in the fourth quarter of 2009, the body of the camera will start at $5990. The lenses will start at $2490.
