Palm Pre webOS 1.2 Update: The Killswitch
By: Jamie Pert | September 29, 2009
You may have read our post earlier regarding Palm’s latest webOS update, in this post we looked into some additions and improvements made in webOS 1.2.0, however now we have found out of a feature within webOS 1.2.0 which many are labeling as a “remote killswitch”.
In Palm’s EULA (end-user license agreement) it gives Palm access to “add, remove, disable access to, block, or modify remotely”, this can be carried out on any application installed on you Palm Pre, mainly for licensing reasons.
Personally I don’t think this is a big deal, and in many ways it could be a good thing for Palm users if applications are found to be dangerous to users, for more information check out SlashGear.
