HTC Rumor: Passion with Android 2.0, Leo’s Snapdragon Processor

As we know, Windows Mobile runs the HTC Leo; this has lead to rumors that Google Android 2.0 would power the HTC Passion. According to Android and Me, they expect the HTC Passion to be the first Android phone to run with the powerful 1GHz Snapdragon Processor.

The processor is used in the Windows version of the HTC handset, so it makes sense that the Android version will also have the same processor power. It will certainly be interesting to learn which out of the two operating system will get the most from the Snapdragon.

We reported yesterday that in early benchmark tests, the HTC Leo saw a 300% improvement over the older Touch HD; this was mainly due to the Snapdragon Processor. There are hopes that the next Android phone will also see the same kind of improvements.
