Super Street Fighter IV (SSFIV): List of characters and new game engine details

Earlier on we informed you about the big announcement that Capcom were ‘planning’ to unveil tomorrow. Inevitably, the big secret has been leaked and it’s none other than Super Street Fighter IV, almost definitely the next game in the series.

As reported from Eurogamer, early screenshots and game details have been obtained courtesy of French website JV247. Unsuprisingly the website is down completely (Capcom dishing out some punishment we reckon) at the moment, but not before we managed to hear about details of new characters and features for the game.

One of the characters featured in the leaked screenshots, is none other than old favorite T-Hawk, while there is also word that Dee-Jay will be featuring in the new game. Makes perfect sense to us considering that Cammy and Fei Long are already on the roster for SFIV.

Other characters that are ‘rumored’ to be coming are Juri, Dudley, Ibuki, Cody, Adon, Guy and Hakan. Eurogamer also mention that SSFIV will let characters have access to a second ultra attack, which can be performed in the air. Combine that with news of a return for the classic bonus stages and we have some very exciting prospects to look forward to.

Thats not all though, it has been speculated that Super Street Fighter IV will also be built on a new engine, different to that of SFIV. From what we have seen from the leaked screenshots though, it looks pretty much the same to us, so it will be interesting to hear more details on this. Oh and the game is apparently meant to be taking place one year after the events of SFIV.
