Official: iPhone coming to Orange UK, T-Mobile Next

There have been a number of rumors about which other UK network would be getting the Apple iPhone. We recently reported, “O2’s iPhone 3G exclusive reported to end on October 9th.” Well we have learned that Orange UK will be getting the iPhone 3G and 3GS, but there is no word on a release date or pricing details.

Engadget explains that although Orange have yet to offer a release date, they have a small release date as they plan to offer it to customers later this year. We also have no details on tariff pricing, but we expect them to offer a better deal than O2 in a bid to lure new and old customers towards them.

It is certainly great to have some competition for the iPhone, and Orange is known for having a better 3G coverage than O2. Another piece of good news is the fact that the iPhone could also be offered on T-Mobile, following the news that Orange and T-Mobile are to merge.
