Netbooks to get all versions of Windows 7
By: Peter Chubb | September 28, 2009 | Leave a CommentBack in July, we had mentioned in an article that “Windows 7 will run on a Netbook: Something Vista could not.” Well upon further investigation, we learned that Windows 7 would only be available for netbooks, but only as a cut-down version. Engadget have been looking in to this and according to TG Daily, netbooks will now come with all version of Microsoft’s new operating system.
Microsoft must understand how popular netbooks are, so to limit Windows 7 to just three applications on these small devices would have been a bad decision. The starter version, which was only to have a 3 application limit only, comes as a 32 bit variant, this is aimed at those emerging markets.
Future netbook users will now be pleased to know that they will now be able to run Windows 7 Ultimate, not certain how a machine that cannot handle all the Aero visualizations will run, but it will certainly be fun to find out.
