Apple’s App Store: 2 Billion Downloads reached

It is no secret that these days there is a lot of money to be made for developers in terms of app development for handsets, currently the most popular application store is Apple’s App Store, back in July we reported how in total there had been over 1.5 billion downloads via the App Store, now the App Store has seen over 2 billion applications downloaded.

During Apple’s recent event Apple announced that they had sold over 50 million devices which were capable of running applications from the App Store, most of these were iPhone’s however there were also a lot of iPod Touch’s.

The App Store is said to currently feature more than 85 thousand applications in total, and they are available in 77 different countries, the fact that 500 million applications have been downloaded within a few months really does show how well Apple App Store is doing, find out more on MacWorld.
