Palm Pre: Available for $99.99 on Amazon

There seems to be a lot of news regarding the Palm Pre today, earlier we heard how the handset may not be being released on Verizon Wireless, and now we are hearing that Amazon are now offering the handset for $99, you can see Amazon’s $99 Palm Pre here.

Currently the offer obviously is only available when purchased as part of a two-year service plan, however the $99 price does not require a mail-in rebate, previously the best price for the handset was $149.99.

This should let the Palm Pre compete directly with Apple’s iPhone 3G, for more information check out IntoMobile’s article, it will be interesting to see how sales compare after a few months.
