iPhone MMS After Update: Do you have picture messaging?

Buzz This

Following on from our post earlier about the iPhone MMS update and details of the AT&T release, we are now hearing from many iPhone users confirming they have had the carrier update.

After downloading the new carrier settings, some users are reporting problems with the new iPhone MMS support. Do you have iPhone picture messaging?

Some users have said “iTunes downloaded my carrier update, but I still do not have MMS capability on my iPhone”, have you had this problem after getting the carrier settings update?

One tip that has fixed this problem for many is to restart your Apple iPhone 3G / 3GS. Sounds simple, but apparently this is what you need to do after getting the iPhone MMS update.

Let us know your experiences with AT&T iPhone MMS in the comments.

I too was like the rest having downloaded the carrier settings but still not having access to the mms. But after reading here to restart the iphone I now have the little camera icon at the bottom left corner when I enter my messaging section of the phone. Thanks for the advice and I hope this helps some other iphone user.
    Peace.

I restarted the iPhone. Tried to send a picture and it showed it sending on a bar to about 90% and then didn’t fill anymore. Then I got the red “!” and it said there was an error.

My friend send me a picture and it arrived fine. Then I tried to send the picture to her again. Again, it went to 90% and stopped. This time I shook the iphone and it the picture was sent.

I think the servers are overwhelmed by millions of people trying to do this. I am sure it will stabilize after the novelty wears off.

I am having this same problem, but shaking it is not working for me. This is VERY frustrating especially considering how long we’ve been waiting for it!
I even took mine into an AT&T store today and the people there had no idea what to do…..
So now I’m searching the glorious internet for help

I have no MMS yet. The reps I spoke to asked me the same questions regarding the update, etc… (as if I’m an idiot).. They had to open a case for me and said I’d know by Sept 30th what the next steps were. Just what I expected though from AT&T. I truly believe that Verizon has the more reliable network, at least here in the Seattle area. The moment there’s a Verizon iPhone is the moment I jump the AT&T ship.

  5. Mitch says:

Yes and if you press the learn more button prior to updating the iphone to accept MMS it will send you to this page which basically tells you to restart the phone after the update to activate it.

TOTAL SUCCESS!!! restart the phone and it works perfect. FINALLY. i will never ever go back to blackberry now for sure, Mac has totally proven themselves. :D also delete your text history if your having problems. I got the 90% error message, and then i deleted that text convo, and then restarted and WORKS

If you dont have an iphone, GET IT.

I have got the latest update for my iPhone and have rebooted it but the picture messaging still isn’t workin. The sending gets to about 90% and then stops and shows an error.has anyone had this problem and have you managed to fix it?
