Nintendo Wii: Officially Drops to $199

You may have read our two previous posts regarding a Nintendo Wii price cut, firstly we saw a ‘Toys-R-Us’ ad showing the new price, and then following this we heard from more and more reliable sources that the console will be reduced to $199 as of September 27th.

Well now Nintendo have officially announced the price-cut, the console will be cut from $249.99 by $50 to $199.99, as thought this price-cut will become effective as of Sunday (September 27th), and should help the console compete with the recently reduced prices of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

It seems that the console bundle itself will stay exactly the same, Nintendo also took the opportunity to officially announce the release date of New Super Mario Bros. Wii, this will be released on November 15th, to find out more check out cnet.
