iPhone MMS: AT&T announce release time

AT&T have confirmed that iPhone customers should start to receive the long awaited MMS features in the ‘late morning’ on Friday. The news follows our previous story yesterday which told you that AT&T had started sending info to customers via text message.

As reported from Apple Insider, the MMS features will be unlocked via a carrier file that will be available to download on iTunes. AT&T also revealed that the ‘late morning’ estimation is for iPhone owners in the Pacific time zone, which means that those of you on Eastern time will probably receive the update in the afternoon.

The statement from AT&T reads: “Late morning, Pacific Time, on Friday, the new carrier settings update enabling MMS should be live and ready to download through iTunes. We’ll provide the steps and all of the details you need right here at that time.”
