Google Android OS: One year later
By: Jamie Pert | September 24, 2009 | Leave a CommentGoogle’s Android OS has now been out pretty much a year, a recent article on MacRumors is currently looking into whether or not the OS has been an overall success and the progress the OS has made in its first year.
The first handset to launch with the OS was made by HTC and called the G1, approximately two million of these handsets have now been sold, although these numbers aren’t anything compared to handsets like Apple’s iPhone it isn’t bad for their debut handset.
One successful thing about Android is the Android Market, there are over 10,000 applications available, this does not quite compare to the 50,000+ applications available at Apple’s App Store, however its very good progress for the first year.
Overall I feel that Google will be happy with the OS’s progress, and I feel that this year things will really start to grow for Android, especially as more and more handset manufacturers are adopting the OS, find out more on MacRumors.
