The famous coffee shop Starbucks have now released two applications which are available for iPhone at the App Store, one of the applications is called “myStarbucks” and the other is called “Starbucks Card Mobile”, from what we can see both applications should be available at the App Store now, free of charge.
“myStarbucks” is a pretty simplistic application, the idea of the app is to allow users to know where their local Starbucks is, it also allows you to create your own drinks and even see nutritional information on your drink of choice.
“Starbucks Card Mobile” is a bit more advanced, it allows you to pay for your drinks using your iPhone, other functionality allows you to view your recent transactions and top up your Starbucks card. The application uses a bar-code which the cashier can scan to verify payment, this hasn’t been rolled out everywhere yet, however if it is a success I would imagine that Starbucks will start rolling it out everywhere.
Personally I feel that these applications are great additions for Starbucks, and even if they aren’t a massive success any extra revenue is great given the recent economic climate, you can find out more information on IntoMobile.
Have you used either of the new applications? If so let us know your opinions below.
