By: Peter Chubb | September 23, 2009 | Leave a CommentIntel have finally offered us a first demo of its much-anticipated Larrabee graphics processor, Intel hope that the new hardware will bring them right in to the mix with Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) and Nvidia. These are the big two who dominate the high-end graphics market.
Information Week explains that Sean Maloney, chief sales and marketing officer for Intel was on stage at the Intel Developer Forum in San Francisco when he showed off a working Larrabee Graphics Processor. Larrabee was used with Gulftown, this is the codename given to a six-core processor, which should be released some time in 2010.
During the developer conference, Maloney did not give too much information away, but he did say that it would be used in a graphics card for use in the high-end PC and workstation market. He said, “We’ve got a discrete product coming up.” For all the details, visit Information Week.
Intel are certainly showing no signs of a slowdown when it comes to launching new products, the Intel Core i7-820 QM mobile CPU is just their latest product.
