ATI Radeon HD 5870 Review: Better than Competition
Filed under: Computer Hardware, Computers

AMD have now released its new ATI Radeon HD 5870 and early reviews state that the GPU has much better performance than its competition. This graphics card is for the serious gamer, as it uses the most powerful processer ever created, and is also the first GPU to fully support Microsoft DirectX 11.
Engadget tell us that the new ATI Radeon HD 5870 is built on a 40nm process, its engine clock has been pushed to run at 850MHz, add to this its 153.6GBps memory bandwidth, 1600 stream processors and more than two billion transistors and we have a GPU that means business.
Hard OCP have spent some time with the new ATI Radeon HD 5870 from AMD, so thought that they would offer up a detailed review of the graphic card. They did note that all of the games that they used in the review did not support Direct X 11, so could not get the best from the GPU.
