Has Apple iPhone OS 3.1 reduced your battery life?
By: Peter Chubb | September 22, 2009 | 2 CommentsWhen Apple first announced the new Apple iPhone 3GS, we were told that the battery life had improved. In reality, things have not gone that way and the charge has not been lasting that long. We had hoped that Apple iPhone OS 3.1 would solve this issue, but it seems that some iPhone users have said that they are now seeing that the update has dramatically reduced battery life.
If you head over the Appleās support forum, you will see just what we mean. ZD Net has been looking a little further into this, but they have concluded that it is still too early to guess what is causing this problem. This we do know, Apple is taking these problems very seriously.
AppleCare Support has been in contact with a number of users and has been asking them a series of questions about their iPhone usage. Users are then asked to install a battery life logging utility; this will then send a log back to Apple with battery telemetry. It is hoped that Apple can then use this information to solve the issue.
