Verizon’s network, the iPhone, and lack of good smartphones
By: Peter Chubb | September 21, 2009 | 4 CommentsAccording to who you talk to, Verizon is the best carrier in the U.S. and according to zikkir.com; they have the worst smartphones on the market. It is no secret that Verizon and its customers would love for the iPhone to come to them; however, that still seems a long way off.
Verizon are always getting praise for their great coverage, but zikkir.com wonders why they always seem to lose out to other carriers, such as AT&T and T-Mobile for the latest Smartphones. Even Sprint has now started to offer better handsets than Verizon.
There are a few examples of this, most recently, T-Mobile announced the launch of the new Motorola Cliq, this is the latest Android phone. Having the Cliq in their lineup is a coup for T-Mobile, but even T-Mobile has a way to go to catch up to AT&T.
AT&T seems to be the top dog when it comes to attracting big handsets, but as they often have patchy coverage, we wonder why this is.
