SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Storage Devices From LucidPort

Following on from our earlier story, which reported on the world’s first USB 3.0 web camera, we are hearing that LucidPort Technology are also planning to unveil their SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Storage Devices at IDF.

As reported from Reuters, LucidPort are going to be demonstrating the new USB 3.0 devices, from companies such as MacPower, Netac, SSI Computer Corp and Good Way Technology.

After the showing at IDF, the devices should then start appearing at retail stores before the end of the year. The new SuperSpeed drives will have the ability to transfer up to 250 Mbytes/sec, as well as being fully backwards compatible to USB 2.0/1.1 hosts and all of the usual operating systems.

More details over at Reuters.
