Metal Gear Solid Movie: Currently in production

Way back in May 2006, Hideo Kojima had announced that there was to be a Metal Gear Solid Movie, and that it was in development. According to YourEMGN.com, the movie was said to be in English, but no release date had been confirmed.

Later in that year, Kojima had attended E3 and said that he had negotiated a contract with a company in Hollywood to bring the game to life on the big screen. There have been a number of rumors as to where the game will be set, one place that has been considered is Alaska.

Since then, David Hayter is said to have passed on his script to movie executives. There was rumors that Kurt Wimmer was to write and direct the movie, but these rumors have since been squashed and he is not attached to the movie.

The latest report has a 2010 release date for the Metal gear Solid movie, but this has yet to be confirmed.
