Endless Iteration: Hidden key to Blizzard games

Blizzard have revealed in a recent interview that the key to their successes in games such as the upcoming Diablo III is ‘endless iteration’. As many of you are well aware, it has been 9 long years since Diablo II was first released, so any fresh hints about Diablo III is music to our ears.

Lead Designer Kevin Martens made the ‘endless iteration’ statement in a recent interview over at Gamasutra. He also thinks that the long delay for the game is an advantage, rather than a disadvantage as he states:

“It can be a long time, but it is fun to work on as well. That’s the thing that keeps you going.”

As far as I am concerned Diablo II still has problems with lag at times, and I have a very powerful computer and connected to Verizon FIOS
