PS3’s MAG: Servers hit by heavy traffic

As many of you will be aware, Sony have just ended their closed beta for MAG and have now opened it up to their Qore subscribers, Select Media, SCEE Lottery Winners and frequent posters on their boards.

As a result of this, it has been reported that Sony are suffering from all the extra traffic, leaving many of you with beta codes locked out of the beta, for the moment.

Over at PS3Center, they are stating that one of the main issues, lies in the huge 3GB patch that beta participants will need to download first. Even worse, those who expected to receive beta codes today, will now have to wait until Monday at the earliest, which is an obvious nightmare.

Another issue, and probably the most annoying is that some users are reporting that their downloads are restarting back to zero, as a result of bad connections.

If you have been experiencing any of the problems mentioned above, or are just having general issues getting into the beta, let us know.

IT all come down to LAG. This game has so far had really bad LAG. No matter how many time you shoot someone, they may not die cause you where already dead before you took a shot , it just didn’t register due to LAG. Whom ever has the least lag is the winner in this game so far. Just like in SOCcOM. Of course they will likely fix this. But It ruined it for me. Im looking forward to a playing this game once its fixed..

Me and multiple of my PSN friends that got the Qore beta keys have only got the 99% completion of the Patch. I even let my system stay on all night and nothing so did a couple of my other friends leave their systems on hope the last 30megs would just roll over it was so disappointing

I was so close, I only needed 2MB left. then it tops out. it stays at 99% for 4 1/2 hours after that till I gave up then I quit.

Despite great connection speed (12-14Mbps) I’ve been disconnected from the patch 3 times. The last time I was disconnected I was just at 50%. Each time I restart the download it does restart at 0.

It’s getting extremely frustrating & I may give up in order to play other games until maybe next week.

I have heard good things so far about the gameplay from 2 friends that already have d/l’d the pach. They tell me there is no lag comparable to SOCOM Confrontation, and 1 source is playing off a max of 4Mbps connection. Soooooo, we’ll see how this goes….

I have a good connection on around 7.3 mb/s and have downloaded the since 22.30 last night. Now it has been stuck at 99% with 500kb left to download for 45 mins. With this, and its not possible to download in the background… I dont know what to say, its just sick…

  10. mike says:

i started my download at 2:32pm … it finfished exactly at 10pm… .. and my internet sucks … only 2mbps or less…. and my upload is only 256kb …KB !!!! NOT MB!!! … LMAO…. and i hardly ever lag out or freeze…. but the beta is awesome and needs more lag servicing.
