Palm CEO: Roadmap will include only Palm webOS-based devices
By: Jamie Pert | September 18, 2009 | 1 CommentAccording to a recent article on IntoMobile it seems that following the success of the Palm Pre it seems that Palm will now be concentrating on releasing future handsets with webOS instead of Windows Mobile, during a recent announcement from Palm CEO Pail Rubinstein he suggested that for the company to move forward future handsets will all run webOS.
One upcoming Palm handset is the Palm Pixi, this handset will also run webOS, it seems that webOS is a major part of Palm’s long-term strategy, whether in the long run this will be a good decision is yet to be seen, however if they continue to get it right like they did with the Pre things should be good.
Personally I think this is a great move for Palm as now they are in complete control of their future developments/restrictions, also keeping everything “under one roof” should allow them to develop in a similar way to how RIM have progressed with BlackBerry handsets, find out more on IntoMobile.
Do you think this is a good decision from Palm?
