Microsoft Windows 7 and Gaming

A recent article posted on Windows7News looks into how Microsoft have tried to improve the gaming experience on Windows 7, “Games for Windows” is not a new platform, however on Windows 7 it has been overhauled.

The Windows 7 version of Games for Windows now includes “technical guidelines, self-certification options and a set of 22 technical requirements”. The main idea of these changes should allow for easier game installation and games will support Parental Controls and Ratings, check the link below for more information.

We have recently talked about how games consoles are somewhat “killing” PC Gaming, whether these improvements will convince game companies to develop more PC games is yet to be seen, however in my opinion it should certainly help, check out Windows7News for more information.

Do you feel that these improvements will improve gaming for PC’s?
