Nvidia’s GT300 core vs. ATI’s RV870
By: Peter Chubb | September 17, 2009 | Leave a CommentNvidia and ATI have been embattled in their own battle for years now, but Nvidia thinks that its new GT300 core is more powerful than the ATI RV870. ATI (AMD) has been doing very well of late with its 4800 series, and will do even better with the upcoming release of the 5800 series.
TG Daily are reporting that Nvidia do not want ATI to have all their own way, which is why they are releasing this new card. The GPU maker has said that its new range of cards coming out is not going to be based on the old GT200 core. The new range is to be based on its new core architecture, which has the codename of the GT300.
Nvidia claim that the GT300 has a performance advantage over any GPU that the ATI RV870 core has to offer. The new Nvidia’s GT300 is thought to be released by late November, which is just in time for the holiday season. Expect reviews to come in shortly after release.
