BlackBerry Tour OS 4.7.1.53: The maintenance release

BGR have been keeping their ear to the ground and have heard rumors that the BlackBerry Tour OS 4.7.1.53 will be released on October 1. This is to be the first official firmware update for the handset; this maintenance release is now long overdue.

BGR have said that they have been using the firmware update for some time now, and it has managed to speed the phone up, but not by much. For those Tour owners who were hoping for more, then I am afraid they you will be disappointed.

Some of the problems that Tour users have been experiencing include, a muffled sound from their Bluetooth, GPS and Navigator keeps popping up after it has been shut down, and much more. Do not expect this update to solve all of these problems though. BlackBerry Tour OS version 5.0 will have much more to offer, but that seems a long way off.
