Apple’s Snow Leopard: Sales high thanks to low price
By: Peter Chubb | September 17, 2009
Apple certainly has something to smile about with the release of their new OS, Snow Leopard. Sales of the new operating system are twice as much as Leopard and four times as much as Tiger before that. The reason for these huge sales is thanks to its low price.
Apple Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard not only showed great sales, but it has also shown that its first week sales were not a fluke. This was a different story for previous versions, Leopard and Tiger, as sales after the first week dropped a massive 60 percent. According to Apple Insider, Snow Leopard has only dropped by 25 percent in its second week.
NPD, who have provided these sales figures have said that this is yet another strong launch from Apple and their operating system. Apple has always delivered on its promise to provide faster and more stable operating systems each time, and Snow Leopard is no exception.
